RAVE ON AT SHENZHEN STORM IN CHINA

Budweiser’s Shenzhen Storm is an electronic dance music (EDM) festival that’s unlike anything I’ve experienced in North America. Want to check it out with me? Scroll down for a virtual tour!

Shenzhen Storm is larger than life. Guests can wander the grounds, eat, drink and dance while top DJs spin their latest hits. Fans rave over international EDM superstars like Far East Movement, Afrojack and Peking Duk.

The main stage was spectacular, featuring three screens, blazing lights and a stunning futuristic design.

THINGS TO DO, PEOPLE TO SEE

Festival style is an essential part of any EDM event. With outfits inspired by Electric Daisy Carnival, self expression is embraced. Shenzhen Storm is a hot spot for plenty of unique, beautiful people — and primates!

Budweiser’s two-storey activation is particularly impressive. When I entered the elaborate booth I received a customized tattoo from the brand’s famous Bud Girls. Then, a robot served me beer! I was astounded.

This huge graffiti wall is a popular spot to pose for a photo or take a sip of your pint. Cheers!

All aboard! Vaping company SPV supplies nautical fun with their giant party boat. Dancers are encouraged to bust a move on the balcony. Meanwhile, security officers keep things safe and secure on dry land.

Bilingual signs help festival-goers get around efficiently. With over 18 million people in Shenzhen, navigating a crowd is part of everyday life.

Want to experience Storm in style? No problem. Don’t limit yourself to simple VIP access when the VVIP is where it’s at. This special area features leather sofas to relax on while you sip Perrier Jouet champagne, bottles of which are supplied by the half-dozen.

Security at this event was second-to-none, providing a fun and safe environment for everyone. Officers in orderly rows and on pedestals watched over the dancing crowd. Guests continued to party with enthusiasm as the grounds were patrolled.

For those about to drop after hours of grooving, there’s the Chill Out Area. Just sit back, relax and chill. What a great idea! Sounds like something we could use in the western hemisphere…
